Privacy policy.
This page explains what information glengallarde.com collects, why, and what you can ask me to do with it.
Who I am
This website is run by Glen Gallarde, a freelance web developer who moves WooCommerce stores to Shopify. For anything about your data, email rescue@glengallarde.com.
What I collect
- What you send in a form: your store URL and email, plus anything optional you add, such as your name, product count, timing and message. The form also sends how you reached the site: the page you first landed on, the site, campaign or ad that sent you, and how many pages you viewed. This tells me which pages and ads bring enquiries.
- Bookings: if you book a call, Calendly collects your name, email and chosen time under its own privacy policy.
- Visit data: Google Analytics records pages visited, the device and browser used, rough location, and whether you sent a form. Outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland this runs unless you click Decline. Inside them it only runs if you click Accept.
- Ad data, only if you accept cookies: Google Ads and the LinkedIn Insight Tag record whether you came from an ad and sent a form.
- How pages are used: Microsoft Clarity records clicks, scrolling and mouse movement as anonymous heatmaps and session replays, so I can see where pages are confusing. Text you type into forms is masked and never recorded. Clarity runs without cookies unless you accept them, in which case it can link your visits together.
Why I use it
- To reply to your request, prepare your audit and quote, and do the work you hire me for.
- To understand which pages and ads bring enquiries, so I can improve them.
I don't sell your information, and I don't add you to a mailing list without asking.
Cookies
The site works without cookies. Ad cookies only load after you click Accept on the cookie banner. Google Analytics cookies load by default outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland, and only after Accept inside them. If you click Decline, analytics and ad cookies stay off, and Microsoft Clarity measures page use without cookies. To change your choice, clear this site's data in your browser and the banner will show again.
Who else handles it
- Cloudflare hosts the site. Web3Forms delivers form submissions to my inbox.
- Calendly handles call bookings.
- Google (Analytics) receives visit data as described above. Google (Ads) and LinkedIn (Insight Tag) receive it only if you accept cookies.
- Microsoft (Clarity) receives anonymous page-use data.
These services may store data outside your country. Each one has its own privacy policy and protections for international transfers.
Store data during a migration
If you hire me, I work with your store's products, customers and orders only to move them to Shopify. I take a full backup before anything moves, sign an NDA on request, and delete my copies of your store data after launch.
How long I keep it
Form messages and emails are kept for up to two years, so I can follow up on your project. Analytics data follows Google's, Microsoft's and LinkedIn's retention settings, which are set to the shortest practical period.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information I hold about you, or object to how I use it. Email rescue@glengallarde.com and I'll reply within 30 days. If you're in the UK or EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes too.
